In 1964, he was the first to present nudes in photography in Colombia and in 1967, was the first photographer to present work at the Modern Art Museum of Bogota. He has since had individual exhibitions in numerous venues throughout Colombia including the Modern Art Museums of Cali, Pereira, Baranquilla, Cartagena, Santa Marta, and Ibague, and in galleries and museums in Scotland, the United States, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Mexico, Italy, and France. He has produced two publications, one of which included a complete retrospective of his images in 2003 that was presented in the Modern Art Museum of Cali, La Tertulia. Dolmetsch also maintained the directorial position of the symphonic orchestra of Cali for 10 years and prides himself as an exceptional gardener (both of which influence his images). He currently lives in Cali with his wife, Ángela.
